You don't have the kernel module - nvidia - installed. Did the pacman command run into an error and you didn't see that it did Though if that was the case and you really used the command you posted no nvidia packages should've been installed. For completeness' sake you can also remove xf86-video-nouveau though it shouldn't matter much.
I am not sure if the nvidia kernel isn't loaded because the output of lspci -v shows it along with nouveauI also dont understand why will the nvidia kernel module be blacklisted because I didn't do anything mentioned outisde the wiki which was only to install things via pacman
That would only circumvent the actual issue, you should be using actively syncing mirrors. Did the update include the kernel Did you not have /boot mounted if you are on UEFI and have your kernel on the ESP you must ensure that the mkinitcpio generated initramfs is properly created. FWIW so we can doublecheck can you post your /var/log/pacman.log
You should use the default package manager user interface Pamac (Add/Remove Software). It does support other package formats, you might need to install libpamac-flatpak-plugin or libpamac-snap-plugin for compatibility with additional formats and then activate them under Pamac settings. There is also pamac-cli and pacman which support native packages. Other options to manage third-party packages: For Snaps you can install snapd and for Flatpaks you can install flatpak there is also manjaro-cli that supports all package formats. Examples: pamac install packageName pacman -S packageName snap install packageName flatpak install packageName manjaro install -n packageName Not sure what to use use Pamac or pamac-cli as it comes by default on any edition. You can also run this installer locally by installing software-center-web-jak.
Note: The AUR is unsupported, so any packages you install are your responsibility to update, not pacman's. If packages in the official repositories are updated, you will need to rebuild any AUR packages that depend on those libraries.
Untrue. It has the additional advantage of making AUR workflows which add packages to a custom repo -- like aurutils -- followed by `pacman -Syu`, actually work as intended. The package gets rebuilt as part of custom repo maintenance, and pacman -Syu then results in cleanly updating the system for both repository and AUR packages. As a non-incompetent user, I value this markedly true information. 59ce067264
