A workaround to this issue is to use the?SUMMONTHFULL=#QUERYVALUE:=function(doc) form of FILTER to filter on aggregated data. To view the query values in the URL path of Tableau Desktop after upgrading to this release
Note: this appears to be a bug which is not well documented anywhere - A few people reported this issue, and it does appear to be worth checking how the Tableau Desktop version and Tableau Lite Desktop version co-exist. The question which a number of people were asking in this topic was how the two versions could co-exist if it can be viewed from the tree view under the "Windows" folder on the Tableau Server. This is where it may make sense to perform the patch.
Tableau Development team has determined this behavior to be by design. The issue is currently with the Tableau as a feature request - Unable to pass plus sign in the URL params after Tableau upgrade 2020.4.1+ Request # 1239079 has been passed to Tableau Development team for their consideration of changing the behavior - Filtering from a URL query string would not respect the URL-encoded "+" sign:
This behavior had been reported in Tableau Desktop 2020.4.1 to Tableau Support . An associated bug has been created that shows a workaround for this issue. It is expected that this issue will be addressed in the future with Tableau Desktop 2020.4.2. d2c66b5586
